It's Beginning to Feel a lot like Christmas

I'm absolutely in love with the holidays season! Despite my often grumpy exterior over the Canadian cold, I enjoy the tacky colours, the warmth of the universal friendship, getting to sip candy-cane hot chocolate, listening to Paul McCartney's "Simply Having A Wonderful Christmas Time", fashionable outerwear and getting the perfect gifts for others. I think I'll be making some mini-holiday posts here and there for this month. For now, here's some great music, a holiday outfit collage and some hipstery bokeh photos :3.

Zeldaru & Cats

Zelda Marathons and cats. Pretty much the ingredients to a purrrrfect weekend. <3

So last weekend I had an intense Zelda Marathon with my good ol' buddy ol' pal Joe :3. We played for a good 12 hours in total, I'd say. we managed to get through the first dungeon of Majora's Mask, Wind Waker, and Twilight Princess. I actually hadn't gotten to play Twilight Princess before, surprisingly. I've never had a Wii and I never got it for GameCube :c so I was super psyched to play it. I'm still blown away that it came out 6 years ago. It didn't seem like that long ago, I can't believe I was only 10!

*Mind = Blown*

So, anyroad, I got some fab photos of his fucking adorable cats Spooky, McLovin' and Paul :3 I remember McLovin' was the first cat he got and we named him in an instant <3 Paul is even named after Paul McCartney <3 <3 <3. Okay I'll shush now and just provide silly pix~

Foggy Days + Forest Mugs

So last week we had two mornings of complete fog and I simply enjoyed the hell out of it with my camera. Since it was on my way to school and I was running a little late, I didn't get the world's best shots, but I did get some I really liked.

(Click for larger view)
Also, last Monday my package from Chapters arrived and I picked it up on the Friday. I got myself the Bettie Page pint glasses from Dark Horse (although it doesn't come in until January) and a camera key chain which I'm actually just replacing (I had one last year but lost it). I got my mum and her fiancĂ© a plate+mugs set for Christmas (ALTHOUGH, one of the mugs was chipped and I have to go in-store to see if they can replace it). I recently got a $50.00 gift card for Indigo/Chapters for some photos and I spent it on Christmas gifts. The glasses were a gift for myself c; There's photos of the mugs, the key chain and Adam's beard process so far all below the foggy photos! <3

Shoot - Tempest

Emily - Whom I've worked with before (below: and at Auto Fest)
So about two weeks ago I got the opportunity to shoot some work by MUA Ellen Findlay along models Liz and Emily, whom I've both worked with before. I absolutely loved working with them and getting to do some creative work. It was fantastic and pretty successful. I'm only getting some shots finished now due to some busying school work and Christmas shopping.

Le Sigh.

Model Emily W/ MUA Ellen.
But! I still do have plenty of shots to share and if I finish any more they'll be on my DeviantART or Facebook.

So on with photos? Oui Oui.

The Girl Who Cried Monster

Here's just a mini blog + photo post and some pointless typing fdjklfds.

So last month we finished reading Frankenstein (or a Modern Prometheus) by mary Shelley. Which, before the class, I had already read about 4-5 times. Although, the rise of the book again (and among many other Frankenstein related things during October) and the essay it followed gave me much inspiration and conceptual thinking. The creature's humanity and and feelings of alienation have related to more than most of it's competent readers, although I've found much more than his misunderstood character to be inspiring. I found that even though he hated his master, and wished revenge on him for so much agony, he eventually realised his compassion and true longing to be accepted and adored.

Bwah so much about Frankenstein is compelling and emotionally powerful. If you haven't picked it up, try to.  Forcing yourself to read it; you may not even get half way through it. But I guarantee if you pick it up a second time, you will age considerably reading it. It's a great piece of literature that sits comfortable before overrated and high above underrated. Do have a peak <3

Madison + Others

So about  two weeks ago I had a shoot/sleepover with Madi again c: The results were satisfying and it was a weekend well-needed. I've earned it lately, as I'd like to think. I've been working primarily on school but while keeping blogging and shoots on mind. I've currently got all my marks in the 90's and have a 96% average, so I'm content c:

In other news, Adam and I have started a beard process. I'm just photographing it lul. This is actually our third week and I'll try to update it every two weeks. We're taking a photo every Friday for anywhere from 6 months to a year, depending. So all two photos so far, some photography update and other new stuff below the photos of Madison :3 xo Enjoy~

Outfit Post - Black Lung

As I mentioned in my last post, I picked up a pair of knock-off Litas back in early September. They've got the typical differences, but sport such a similar look, I couldn't have gone wrong for $30. The heel is a different texture/colour and the boot has sever small differences that make them look like their own sort of boot. Never the less, I ran to combo them instantly with my hi-lo maxi.

I got lots of shots with Adam so onward xo

My Return + Autofest

Pardon my recent absence cats and dolls. My internet was cut off for a couple months, but now I'm steadily back with some outfit posts! c:

I'm also going to go see Streetlight Manifesto with my boyfriend for his birthday this month. He turns 18 on the 25th and our anniversary is 4 days after, so I thought I'd treat us to some ska, since they're one of his favourite bands as well. C:

I picked up a pair of knock-off JC Litas recently and a mini-haul at Forever 21 last month so I've been quite set. I have a few shoots coming up and I have to post about my shoot in August at Autofest! :D I got to work with model Emily Voss and MUA Ellen Findlay and it was quite the project. I'll include that outfit post in a separate post to keep things short and sweet.

Megan DeBlois: Photographer

A photographer I have recently became heavily inspired by is DeBlois. Her black and white and classic style of photos (and experimental ones!) are stunning, and worthy of heavy praise. I'm obviously a big fan of Fashion Photography, but I'm also very interested in classic forms of Fashion Photography. To give a blunt and more obvious example, people such as Avedon. The style is immaculate and timeless.

Here's a link to her website and her Flickr.

Here are just a few photographs from DeBlois that have bewildered me with inspiration.

Madison + The Bearded Lady

What an attractive title match LOL

Anyway, I had my first shoot with Madison since 2011, and it was well-overdue. Especially since I've gotten my 50mm. Such a refreshing experience to be able to photograph a person who has been one of the closest to me. I'm really glad we're talking again, I think this will be healthy for me and my photography since I believe that some of my most beautiful photos are of that lovely lady. I have some shots complete but I'm still working ever-so on the photos I took of her :D. I have some photos from that day I'll be sharing though <3

In other news, the day after, I decided to go to a new vintage store that has opened up downtown called The Bearded Lady. It's an amazing and intriguing little store! It's bright red store front, great prices, and superb 50s and 60s selection makes it drool worthy for me <3 I've ran into to way too many vintage stores that have that are washed over with cheap and easy 80s pieces, but this store is filled with stuff pre-70s! I'm super excited to start shopping there, honestly. I have a few photos from the store's inside *below! my shoot with Madi.

ALSO: Some Self Portraits and Photography at the very very bottom :3

Boating (Going Under) + Adam

I recently shot some photos for my Chictopia/Lookbook. I spent a lovely day with Adam doing so, since he's been helping me due to the death of my tripod :c He's such a sweetheart helping me out, really! It means the world to me and it helps me get by a lot more easily. He's learned a lot about my camera/portraits so far, actually.

Anyhow, portraits followed my extras xo- (more under the cut)

Kristan xo + Ingestion

So on Thursday I had a lovely sunset shoot with Kristan Elsie. I looked forward to it quite a bit and I've only finished up a few shots but I guarantee that when I get into a swing again, I'll have tonnes of photos to update from the set. She looked absolutely dear! So here is some of the shots and below is just a photography update to share what I've been up to artistically.

Day 3 and 4 - NYC

Pardon the long awaited final post but here goes xx

My third an fourth days in New York City

Day 2 - NYC

In advance, I'd like to apologise for not doing this MUCH earlier like I should have. I procrastinated it due to the amount of photos and content. I've seen many blog posts on NYC from other fashion bloggers, and there's next to nothing about that they did and pictures they took. So I promised myself I'd post some (selective) amount of photos to get a feel of my real NYC experience.

Okay so ONWARDS :3

New York City - Day I

A long over-due post, about a week late :/
Anyroad, I'm going to make it short since day one was mostly just driving there, seeing a bit of Time Square, dinner, and then to our hotel. I've got so many photos to post, but since there is over 100 for day 2, I'll be posting only a select few on the next post. But to view every single photos, you can check out my Facebook page!
